Privacy Policy: TSD Thlahchhâ Chhihthana

TSD Thlahchhâ Chhihthana ("the app") is the daily devotion and monthly fasting prayer app of Together for Sustainable Development (TSD), Myanmar ("TSD", "we"). This policy explains what the app does with information. In short: the app does not collect, sell or share your personal information.

What the app does with your information

No accounts, no ads, no analytics. You do not sign in. The app contains no advertising, no analytics, no crash-reporting service and no tracking of any kind, and it uses no third-party services that collect data.

Information stored only on your device. The app keeps the following on your phone, in the app's private storage, and never sends it to us or to anyone else:

• the devotion and fasting prayer content you downloaded;
• your choices: language, theme, reading text size, "keep screen on", your fasting prayer location and verse language;
• your bookmarks;
• the personal notes you write for each day.

You can delete all of this at any time by clearing the app's storage in Android Settings or by uninstalling the app.

Internet use

The app needs the internet only to download the devotion and fasting prayer content from the TSD content server (https://prayer.tsdmyanmar.org) and to check about twice a day whether new content is available, also while the app is closed (you can switch this off in Settings), when you pull a screen down to refresh, and when you tap Check for updates. All traffic is encrypted (HTTPS). Like any website or app that downloads files, the server receives the technical information every connection involves, such as your IP address and the time of the request, and the hosting provider (Cloudflare) may keep standard technical logs. The app sends no account, device-identifier, location or usage information in these requests, and TSD does not use these logs to identify you.

After the first download the app works without the internet.

Google Play. If the app was installed from Google Play, it asks Google Play whether a newer version of the app has been released (Google's standard in-app update feature). This is done by Google Play on your phone under Google's own privacy policy; the app sends nothing of its own and only receives the answer. When a newer version is available, the app asks you to update before you continue.

Permissions

The app asks for two permissions, both so that it can fetch content: INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE (to know whether a connection is available). The tool that runs the background check for new content adds two more ordinary permissions automatically: RECEIVE_BOOT_COMPLETED (so that the check keeps its schedule after your phone restarts) and WAKE_LOCK (so that a check can finish). None of these gives the app access to your information. The app does not access your location, contacts, camera, microphone, photos, files or phone number.

Sharing

If you tap Share, Android opens its share sheet and the text you chose to share (for example a devotion's title and verse) goes only to the app you pick. The app does not read or send anything else. Share the app works the same way and sends only the app's name, a short line and the link to its Google Play page. Rate the app opens the app's page in the Play Store. The Website, Facebook, TSD News and YouTube buttons open the TSD pages in your browser or in the matching app; those sites have their own privacy policies.

Backups

Android may back up the app’s saved choices (such as your language, theme and text size) to your own Google Account if you have device backup turned on, and restore them on a new phone. Your notes and bookmarks are not included in that cloud backup: they stay on your phone. If you move to a new phone with Android’s direct phone-to-phone transfer, they can travel with you, straight between your own phones. TSD cannot see any of this. The downloaded content is not backed up (it is downloaded again when needed).

Children

The app is a general-audience devotional app. It does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone, including children.

If the app's handling of information changes, we will update this page and the "Last updated" date above.
